Know the water before you launch.

wæking is navigation made for personal watercraft. It checks depth, tide, weather and slow zones for your ride, then stays with you turn by turn.

Riders are testing it now around Marco Island and Wiggins Pass.

The ride screen: a turn 110 feet ahead, the route drawn down a channel between mangrove islands, and a warning that shallow water is ahead.
The home screen: a map of Wiggins Pass with ramps, marinas and beaches, and the wind and tide right now.

Plan

Pick a beach. Get a straight answer.

Choose where you want to go and when. wæking works out the route a PWC can really take and tells you whether it is a good time to go.

  • The best ramp or marina to launch from
  • The best time to leave today, or any day this week
  • How long you can stay before the tide or the sun says go home
The ride screen: speed, the slow zone's limit and the estimated depth under you, with shallow water marked in red beside the channel.

Ride

Built to be read at a glance.

On the water your phone is mounted, wet and in full sun. So everything is big, bright and where you expect it.

  • Turn by turn along the channel, with the markers drawn in
  • Shallow water flagged before you reach it
  • Slow zones and their limits, next to your speed
The ride screen with a red alert: lightning 5 miles away, get off the water.

Weather

Florida storms don't wait.

wæking watches radar, lightning and marine warnings around you for the whole ride, and says so plainly when it is time to head in.

  • Live radar and lightning on the map
  • Wind and storm forecasts weighed into every plan
  • Works from what it already has when the signal drops
